What is the difference between a removal and a delisting?

Last updated on Mar 18, 2026

A removal means the actual content is taken down from the website where it was posted. A delisting means the link to that content is removed from search engine results (like Google), so people can no longer find it through search. Ideally, we achieve both: the content is removed from the source and delisted from search engines. In some cases, delisting happens faster than full removal, which still significantly reduces the visibility of the leak.
